Headlamp Capsule Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURENOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent damage.
1. Open the hood.
2. Raise the headlamp manually. Rotate the headlamp motor/actuator manual control knob counterclockwise to raise the headlamp.
3. Disconnect the headlamp wiring harness electrical connector from the forward lamp wiring harness.
4. Remove the headlamp bezel.
IMPORTANT: Support the headlamp capsule while removing the retaining screws.
5. Remove the headlamp capsule retaining screws.
6. Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connectors.
7. Remove the capsule from the headlamp pivot and adjusting bracket.
CAUTION: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution in Cautions and Notices.
8. Remove the headlamp bulbs from the capsule, if necessary.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution in Cautions and Notices
1. Install the headlamp bulbs to the headlamp capsule, if removed.
2. Connect the headlamp bulb electrical connectors.
3. Position the headlamp capsule to the headlamp pivot and adjustment bracket.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Install the capsule retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the headlamp capsule retaining screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).
5. Install the headlamp bezel.
6. Connect the headlamp wiring harness electrical connector to the forward lamp wiring harness.
7. Lower the headlamp manually. Rotate the headlamp motor/actuator manual control knob clockwise to lower the headlamp.
8. Close the hood.
9. Check headlamp aim.

10. Remove any protective tape applied during the removal procedure.
