Control Module HVAC: Service and Repair
[1][2]Blower Control Module ReplacementREMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Unplug the blower motor before removal Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the I/P lower insulator panel - RH.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector from the blower motor control module.
4. Disconnect the blower motor control module electrical connector from the blower motor.
5. LOOSEN the blower motor control module forward two retaining screws (nearest the dash mat) approximately 5 mm (0.197 in).
(The resistor is slotted at the forward retaining locations.)
6. Remove the control module rear retaining screw.
7. Tilt down the rear of the control module.
8. Remove the blower motor control module from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the blower motor control module forward retaining slots onto the forward retaining screws.
2. Align and seat the control module to the HVAC module.
3. Install the control module rear retaining screw and drive until just secure.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Tighten all the control module retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the blower motor control module retaining screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
5. Connect the blower motor control module electrical connector to the blower motor.
6. Connect the wiring harness electrical connector to the blower motor control module.
7. Install the I/P lower insulator panel - RH.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
9. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization in Keyless Entry.
