Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging under Refrigerant, A/C Service and Repair.
3. Remove the radiator.
4. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) from the condenser and position the line aside.




5. Remove the liquid line nut (2) from the condenser and position the line aside.




6. Remove the condenser.
7. Remove and discard the O-ring seals on the liquid and compressor lines.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the condenser.





IMPORTANT: Lubricate the new O-ring seal with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

2. Install the new O-ring seals onto the liquid and compressor lines.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the liquid line and nut (2) at the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the liquid line nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).




4. Install the compressor hose and nut (2) to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

5. Install the radiator.
6. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging under Refrigerant, A/C Service and Repair.
7. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing under Heating and Air Conditioning Testing and Inspection.
8. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
