Housing Assembly HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Remove the instrument panel.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging under Refrigerant, A/C Service and Repair.
5. Disconnect the A/C lines at the evaporator.
6. Remove the heater hoses at the heater core.
7. Remove the lower the heater duct.
8. Remove the A/C module bolts inside the passenger compartment.
9. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
10. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
11. Remove the A/C module nuts (4) in the engine compartment.
12. Remove the HVAC module (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the HVAC module (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the A/C module nuts (4) in the engine compartment.

Tighten
Tighten the A/C module nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the A/C module bolts inside the passenger compartment.

Tighten
Tighten the A/C module bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Connect the electrical connectors.
5. Connect the vacuum hoses.
6. Install the lower heater duct.
7. Install the instrument panel.
8. Install the heater hoses at the heater core.
9. Refill the coolant system.
10. Install the A/C lines at the evaporator.
11. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging under Refrigerant, A/C Service and Repair.
12. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
13. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
