Headlamp: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Raise the hood.
2. Lift the flap on the appropriate end of the radiator upper air deflector.
3. Separate the radiator side air baffle from the upper air deflector.
4. Remove the fastener retaining the upper edge of the front bumper fascia to the headlamp bracket.
5. Remove the two bolts retaining the headlamp assembly to the headlamp bracket.
6. Slide the headlamp assembly slightly inboard to release the outboard retaining tabs.
7. Carefully pull the upper edge of the front bumper fascia away from the inboard edge of the headlamp assembly, just enough to aid in headlamp removal.
8. Carefully remove the headlamp assembly from the headlamp bracket.
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the headlamp bulbs.
10. Rotate the park/turn signal lamp socket counterclockwise to release.
11. Remove the headlamp assembly.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the park/turn signal lamp socket to the headlamp assembly, then rotate the socket clockwise to secure.
2. Connect the electrical connectors to the headlamp bulbs.
3. Carefully pull the upper edge of the front bumper fascia away from the inboard edge location of the headlamp assembly, just enough to aid in headlamp installation.
4. Carefully position the headlamp assembly to the headlamp bracket and align the outboard retaining tabs to the slots in the headlamp bracket.
5. Slide the headlamp assembly outboard to secure the outboard retaining tabs.
Leave a 6 mm (0.25 in) gap between the outboard edge of the headlamp and the fender.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
6. Install the two headlamp assembly to headlamp bracket retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the headlamp assembly to headlamp bracket retaining bolts to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).
7. Install the front bumper fascia upper edge to headlamp bracket fastener.
8. Position the radiator side air baffle to the upper air deflector.
9. Close and secure the flap on the end of the radiator upper air deflector.
10. Close the hood.
11. Check the headlamp aim, if a new headlamp assembly was installed, or if service or repairs in the front end area may have disturbed the headlamp mounting brackets.
