Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the one bolt from the air inlet duct resonater (silencer) to the air intake box (plenum).
2. Loosen the hose clamp on the air inlet duct resonater (silencer) pipe and swing out of the way.
3. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the two screws and the TP sensor from the throttle body.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align the TP sensor (3) to the throttle body with the TP sensor's upper screw hole (1) slightly ahead of the hole on the throttle body (2). This will properly engage the throttle lever tab with the TP sensor movement.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




2. Rotate the TP sensor (1) rearward in order to align the screw holes and install the two screws.

Tighten
Tighten the two TP sensor screws to 2.0 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
4. Attach the air inlet duct resonater (silencer) pipe to the air intake box (plenum) and secure with one bolt.
5. Tighten the air inlet duct resonater (silencer) hose clamp.
