Engine Cooling Fan Control Switch Description

The fan control switch is mounted in the thermostat housing. The fan control switch contacts are normally closed when the engine coolant temperature is below 83°C (181°F). When the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)reaches 93°C (199°F), the fan control switch opens allowing the radiator fan motor(s) to run preventing the engine from overheating.
