Disabling the Park Brake Automatic Adjuster

1. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake actuator, at both wheels.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Reposition carpet away from park brake lever.





6. With the assistance of another technician, pull the disconnected park brake cable downward until it is fully extended and install a rivet, drill bit, zip tie or cotter key through the lined up holes in the park brake lever. Do not overextend the cable.
