A Preliminary Information
IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.1. Perform A Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster
^ There are no DTCs set.
^ The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
2. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to:
^ Instrument Cluster Description
^ Gauge Description
^ Indicator Description
^ Driver Information Center (DIC) or Message Center Warning Messages Description
^ Audible Warnings Description
Visual/Physical Inspection
^ Inspect for aftermarket devices which may affect the operation of the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Diagrams.
^ Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which may cause the symptom.
Intermittent
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagrams.

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:
- Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge Inaccurate or Inoperative.
- Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Inaccurate or Inoperative.
- ngine Oil Temperature Gauge Inoperative.
- Fuel Gauge Inaccurate or Inoperative.
- Speedometer and/or Odometer Inoperative.
- Tachometer Inoperative.
- Tire Pressure Gauge Inoperative.
- Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge Inaccurate or Inoperative.
- Volt Gauge Inaccurate or Inoperative.
- CHECK GAGES Indicator Inoperative.
- MPH (Km/h) Indicator Inoperative.
- Instrument Cluster Illumination Lamps Inoperative.
