Output Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the appropriate rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering And Suspension.
3. Remove the appropriate drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement.
4. Remove the differential output shaft seal.
Take care not to damage any sealing surfaces.


Installation Procedure

- J 36797 Output Shaft Seal Installer





1. Using the J36797, install the differential output shaft seal.
2. Install the drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement .
3. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Steering And Suspension.
4. Lower the vehicle.
