Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Replacement (7X)




REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the attaching bolt/screw.
5. Remove the sensor from the engine.
6. Inspect for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil before installation and replace the O-ring if damaged.
2. Install the sensor to the engine block.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Reinstall the sensor attaching bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
