B2823
Diagnostic Chart:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) contains a momentary switch that controls the trip odometer reset and trip season display options. The IPC monitors the circuit voltage levels and detects when the trip odometer reset switch has been depressed.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The IPC must have normal operating battery voltage.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The IPC detects that the trip reset switch input is low (grounded) for greater than 60 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The IPC will disable (ignore) the trip reset switch.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The DTC will become history when the IPC no longer detects a failure.
^ The history DTC will clear after 100 fault free ignition cycles.
^ You may clear the DTC with a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ The IPC will store the code as current only as long as the failure exists. An intermittent failure will be stored as a history DTC B2823.
^ If DTC B2823 is set only in history, press and release the trip reset switch several times in order to verify the customer concern.
