Turn Signal Reminder

The turn-signal-on chime activates if a turn signal remains on and the vehicle has travelled more than 1.2 km (0.75 mi). The flasher module provides the left and right turn signal inputs to the Instrument Cluster (IPC).

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) supplies the vehicle speed input to the IPC. When the conditions to activate the chime are met, the IPC sends a message on the class 2 serial data line to the radio in order to activate the turn-signal-on chime. The chime sounds once per flash of the turn signal as long as the turn signal remains on.
