Evaporative Emissions System: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the hoses from canister. Mark the hoses to ensure correct installation on new canister.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the canister hoses for damage or deterioration. Refer to Emission Hose Routing Diagram for proper routing of canister hoses. When replacing the lines, use the correct replacement part. Vacuum and Vapor Hose Diagrams

4. Carefully lower the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement
5. Release the canister from the retaining strap.
6. Remove the canister.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the canister.
2. Secure the canister to canister bracket.
3. Install the hoses to canister. Make sure the connections are correct.
4. Reinstall the fuel tank.
5. Lower the vehicle
