Battery Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery.
2. Remove the RH fender diagonal brace.
3. Disconnect the battery positive cable terminal bolt from the battery.
4. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).
5. Remove the battery hold down retainer (2).
IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
6. Remove the battery (3).
7. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery insulator to the battery.
IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
2. Install the battery (3) to the battery tray.
3. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
5. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.
Tighten
Tighten the battery positive terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
6. Install the RH fender diagonal brace.
7. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery.
Tighten
Tighten the battery negative terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
