Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the IP cluster bezel.
2. Remove the instrument cluster bolts.
3. Remove the instrument cluster.
Gently pull the cluster straight out in order to disconnect the electrical connector.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align the instrument cluster to the IP carrier alignment pins.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the instrument cluster bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.2 N.m (19 lb in) in the following sequence:

2.1. Upper left
2.2. Lower right
2.3. Upper right
2.4. Lower left

3. Install the IP cluster bezel.
4. Synchronize the IP cluster. Refer to the following procedure:

INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER SYNCHRONIZATION
When installing a new IP cluster it must be synchronized to the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) module in order to synchronize the new cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Programming/Synchronization.

INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) PROGRAMMING/SYNCHRONIZATION
When installing a new Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) it must be synchronized to the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic (SDM) module. In order to synchronize the new cluster, using a scan tool, perform the following steps:
1. Under Instrument Panel Cluster select the Special Functions option.
2. Select the Synchronize IPC and SIR option.
3. Then select yes or no. By selecting yes the IPC and SIR modules will synchronize.
4. When the procedure is completed successfully the scan tool will display Module synchronization is complete.
