Trim Pad Replacement - IP (Chevrolet)

Removal Procedure




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the defroster grille screw.
3. With a flat-bladed tool remove the defroster grille from the instrument panel (IP) trim pad.
4. Remove the IP outer trim cover screws.
5. Remove the IP outer trim covers.
6. Open the IP compartment.
7. Remove the right IP trim plate bezel.
8. Remove the IP trim pad screws (1).
9. Remove the IP trim pad (2) from the IP carrier.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the IP trim pad (2) to the IP carrier.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the IP trim pad screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Install the right IP trim plate bezel.
4. Close IP compartment door.
5. Install the IP outer trim covers.
6. Install the IP outer trim cover screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Install the defroster grille to the instrument panel (IP) trim pad.
8. Install the defroster grille screw.

Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
