Scan Tool Data Definitions - BCM
The BCM Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all BCM related parameters available on the scan tool.Calibration Version: The scan tool displays the BCM calibration version number for service identification.
Controller Part Number: The scan tool displays the BCM part number for service identification.
Current Power Mode: The scan tool displays the current power mode. The BCM determines ignition switch position from it's ignition inputs. This ignition switch information is sent on the serial data line to systems that relay on this information to perform certain functions (RAP, wake-up, etc.).
EEPROM Calibration ID: The scan tool displays the BCM EEPROM calibration number for service identification.
Hardware Version: The scan tool displays the BCM hardware version number for service identification.
Ignition 1: The scan tool displays ON or OFF. When the BCM detects ignition 1 is present, the scan tool will display Yes. When the BCM does not detect ignition 1, the scan tool will display OFF. This ignition switch information is sent on the serial data line to systems that relay on this information to perform certain functions (RAP, wake-up, etc.).
Ignition 2: The scan tool displays ON or OFF. When the BCM detects ignition 2 is present, the scan tool will display Yes. When the BCM does not detect ignition 2, the scan tool will display OFF. This ignition switch information is sent on the serial data line to systems that relay on this information to perform certain functions (RAP, wake-up, etc.).
Inadvertent Load Monitor: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the BCM energizes the inadvertent load monitor relay, the scan tool will display Active. When the BCM de-energizes the inadvertent load monitor relay, the scan tool will display Inactive. The inadvertent load monitor system is used for battery run down protection. The BCM removes battery voltage to accessories that were left on by de-energizing the monitored load relay.
Key-In-Ignition: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the BCM detects the key is IN the ignition switch, the scan tool will display Active. When the key is removed from the ignition switch, the scan tool will display Inactive.
Key Out Ignition: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. When the BCM detects the key is OUT of the ignition switch, the scan tool will display Active. When the key is IN the ignition switch, the scan tool will display Inactive.
Passkey Resister Signal: The scan tool displays 0.0-5.0 volts. The voltage level represents the PASS-Key(R) resistance value.
Passkey State: The scan tool displays the current PASS-Key(R) state. This data represents what PASS-Key(R) functional mode the BCM is in. The BCM enters different PASS-Key(R) states based upon the information the BCM receives from the ignition switch (switch position and key resistance value).
Software Major Version: The scan tool displays the BCM major software version number for service identification.
Software Minor Version: The scan tool displays the BCM minor software version number for service identification.
Theft Deterrent State: The scan tool displays the current theft deterrent state. This data represents what theft deterrent functional mode the BCM is in. The BCM enters different states based upon information received from various inputs associated with the theft deterrent system.
