Low Fuel

The low fuel indicator is a LED on the fuel gage. The IPC illuminates the low fuel indicator in the following situations:
^ The IPC determines that the fuel level is less than a pre-determined value. The IPC receives a signal from the BCM via the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) indicating the fuel level.
^ The BCM detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.
^ The IPC detects a loss of SPI communications with the BCM.
^ The PCM detects a malfunction in the fuel level sensor circuit.
