Scan Tool Data Definitions

Software Part Number: Part number of component program or the ECU. Used to determine applicability to vehicle RPO content.

A/C Switch: Input showing the state of the A/C switch controlled by the operator.

Accessory Switch: Input from ignition switch

ACCESSORY circuit: Used to determine power mode. Hot in ACCESSORY and RUN.

Ambient Light Sensor: 0-5 volt input used to determine operation of automatic lights. Also used as sun-load sensor for Automatic HVAC.

Ambient Light Sensor Ref: Output indicating the control module is activating the ambient light sensor.

Auto-Learn Timer Status: Indicates current status of the timer required to control the auto-learn sequence for reprogramming an ignition key for use with the module that controls the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system. If the ignition key used is not programmed into the VTD, the vehicle will not operate.

Backup Lamp Relay: Output indicates the state commanded by the module.

Courtesy Lamp Switch: Input from the courtesy lamp switch input originating as the courtesy lamp output from the manual interior lamp dimming potentiometer.

Dimming Switch: Indicates the voltage signal from the potentiometer controlling the display brightness. Door Lock Motor: Output indicates the activation of the lock motor drive circuit.

Door Unlock Switch: Input from the manual door lock switches located on the interior door panels of the front doors.

Door Unlock Motor: Output indicates the activation of the unlock motor drive circuit.

Driver Door Open Switch: Input from the driver door indicating door status (Open-Closed).

Door Ajar Switches: Input showing state of the passenger door(s).

Doors Battery Fd: Indicates completion of the power circuit for the door control functions.

Doors System Gnd: Indicates the completion state of the ground circuit for the door functions.

Driver Door Unlock Motor: Output indicates the activation of the driver door unlock motor drive circuit. DRL Relay: Output indicates the state commanded by the module.

Electronics Battery Fd: Data indicates the voltage detected by the control module on the power circuit for the module internal devices.

Electronics Battery Fd: Input indicates the completion state of the power circuit for the module internal devices.

Electronics System Gnd: Indicates the completion state of the ground circuit for the module internal devices.

Fog Lamp Relay: Output indicates state that the control module has commanded for the relay.

Fog Lamp Switch: Input from the manual switch.

Headlamp Switch: Input from manual headlamp switch. Tells control module that the operator has requested headlamp operation.

Headlamp Relay: Output indicates state that the control module has commanded for the relay.

Hi Beam On Switch: Input from the high beam switch activated by the operator.

His. DTC Cyc. Counts: Counter indicating number of ignition switch ON/OFF cycles the history DTCs have run/have yet to run until clearing.

Horn Relay: Output indicates state that the control module has commanded for the relay.

Ignition 0: Input to the control module from the ignition switch indicating the state of the Ignition 0 signal.

Ignition 1: Input to the control module from the ignition switch indicating the state of the Ignition 1 signal.

Inadvertent Power Relay: Output indicating the state as commanded by the control module.

Key Cylinder Unlock: Input from front door key cylinders.

Key in Ignition: Input from ignition switch indicating that the ignition key is inserted into the ignition switch. HOT with key in ignition and ignition switch position LOCK.

Lamp Request: Input telling the control module to initiate inadvertent power management.

Load Management Status: Output indicating the power mode commanded.

Loads Battery Fd: Indicates the completion state of the supply circuit for the high current loads.

Loads System Gnd: Indicates completion state of the ground circuit for the high current loads.

Lockout Timer Status: Indicates time remaining in lock-out sequence for vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system. check-out situation caused by using an ignition switch key that is not program into the VTD system.

Park (BTSI) Relay: Output indicating the state commanded by the module.

Park Brake Switch: Input from park brake switch to control module. Used to determine operation of daytime running lights (DRL) and indicator system.

Parklamp Relay: Output indicates state that the control module has commanded for the lamps.

Parklamp Switch: Input from manual switch requesting the control module to activate the park lamps.

Pass Door Jamb Sw.: Input showing the state of the front passenger door.

Passlock Reference: Output indicating that the BCM is checking the Passlock ignition switch reader.

Passlock Data Voltage: Input from resistor voltage divider consisting of the Passlock system internal resistance and the resistor installed in the ignition key. Range of 0-5 volts.

RAP Relay: Output indicates state that the control module has commanded.

Restraints ID: Indicates the type of restraint system on the vehicle and recognized by the control module.

RFA Serial Data Link: Output indicates that the control module has activated the link for RFA operation.

Security Lamp State: Indicates commanded state of security lamp from the control module.

Seed and Key Timer Status: Indicates the time remaining for programming functions. Shock Sensor: Input from vehicle content theft sensor.

Surveillance Mode Switch: Switch input to Disable DRL and interior courtesy lamps.

TCS Switch State: Input from traction control switch, indicating selection by vehicle operator.

Theater Dimming: Output indicates that the control module has commanded the theater dimming function.

Theater Dim X Ground: Input indicating state of the ground(s) used for interior lamp control

Theft Key Read: Input indicates voltage drop of resistor in ignition switch. Range of 0-5 volts.

Trunk Release Switch: Input commanding the control module to activate the trunk release motor.

Trunk Lamp Switch: Indicates state of switch used to control lamp in trunk and IPC indicator.

Trunk Motor: Output indicates that the control module has commanded the motor/solenoid.
