B2655

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The body control module (BCM) controls the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamp low control circuit. The BCM grounds the courtesy lamp low control circuit which completes the courtesy lamp low control circuit, and the lamps illuminate.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The BCM must command the courtesy dimming feature ON.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ The BCM detects a short to battery in the courtesy lamp low control circuit.
^ The condition above must be present for more than 0.3 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The BCM stores DTC B2655 in memory.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ A current DTC B2655 clears if the short to battery in the courtesy lamp low control circuit is no longer detected by the BCM.
^ A history DTC B2655 clears after 100 consecutive error free ignition cycles with no malfunction.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ If the DTC B2655 is a history DTC, the fault may be intermittent. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagnostic Aids.
^ The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur:
- An intermittent short to battery in the courtesy lamp low control circuit.
- Any courtesy lamp is intermittently shorted to battery internally.
- The BCM is intermittently shorted to battery internally.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Steps 1-13:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. Watch for the courtesy lamp low control circuit to illuminate. Command both the ON and OFF states. Repeat the commands as necessary.
3. Tests for voltage at the courtesy lamp low control circuit. The TRK/ROOF BRP fuse supplies power to the interior lamps.
4. Verifies that the body control module (BCM) is providing ground to the courtesy lamp low control circuit.
5. Tests if ground is constantly being applied to the courtesy lamp low control circuit.
