Fuel/Rear Comp Release Handle Housing Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the left body hinge pillar trim panel.
2. Unclip and remove the left front side door sill trim plate (1).




3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The 2 retainers (4)
^ The footrest (5)
4. Remove the front floor front console.
5. Remove the plastic retainer (3) which secures the floor panel carpet to the bulkhead.




6. Remove the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the floor panel carpet to the left I/P center support brace (1).
7. Remove the left front seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
8. Position the floor panel carpet back in order to the access the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing.
9. Remove the left rear floor air outlet duct from the vehicle.
10. Remove the following components from the floor panel:
^ The mounting bolt
^ The fuel/rear compartment release handle housing
11. Remove the following components from the housing:
^ The fuel filler door lock release cable
^ The rear compartment lid lock release cable
12. Remove the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the following components to the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing:
^ The fuel filler door lock release cable
^ The rear compartment lid lock release cable

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing to the floor panel. Secure the housing with the mounting bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing mounting bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the left rear floor air outlet duct to the vehicle.
4. Reposition the floor panel carpet back to its original position.
5. Install the left front seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
6. Install the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the floor panel carpet to the left I/P center support brace (1).




7. Install the plastic retainer (3) which secures the floor panel carpet to the bulkhead.
8. Install the front floor front console.
9. Install the footrest (5) to the vehicle. Secure the footrest with the 2 plastic retainers (4).




10. Install the left front side door sill trim plate (1).
11. Install the left body hinge pillar trim panel.
