Instrument Panel (IP) - Dimmer Switch Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the IP and instrument lamp dimmer switch knob (1).
2. Remove the IP lamp dimmer switch nut (2) from the IP lamp dimmer switch.




3. Using a taped flat bladed tool, gently pry and release the 4 clips around the lamp dimmer switch/remote control rearview mirror switch trim plate (2).




4. Disconnect the dimmer switch electrical connector (2).
5. Remove the dimmer switch from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the IP lamp dimmer switch to the lamp dimmer switch/remote control rearview mirror switch trim plate (3). Secure the dimmer switch with the retaining nut.

Tighten
Tighten the switch retaining nut to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

2. Connect the dimmer switch electrical connector (2).
3. Install the dimmer switch/remote control rearview mirror switch trim plate (3) to the I/P. Ensure that the 4 retaining clips are fully engaged.




4. Install the lamp dimmer switch knob (1) to the dimmer switch.
