Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P)

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.




2. Remove the screws from the underside of the I/P compartment door.




3. Open the I/P compartment door.
Remove the remaining I/P compartment screws inside the pocket.




4. Disconnect the electrical connection from the I/P compartment lamp switch.
5. Remove the I/P compartment from the I/P carrier.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the electrical connection to the I/P compartment lamp switch.
2. Install the I/P compartment to the I/P carrier.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the screws to the underside of the I/P compartment door.

Tighten the screws to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).




4. Open the I/P compartment door
Install the remaining I/P compartment screws inside the pocket.

Tighten the screws to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).

5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
