Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the screws and the left side portion of the air inlet grille.
3. Remove the nut and the washer that secure the wiper arm linkage to the motor driveshaft.
4. Pry the wiper arm linkage off the motor driveshaft.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Remove the bolts and the wiper motor.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

Important: Make sure the crank arm and wiper transmission rod are parallel prior to wiper motor installation.


1. Install the wiper motor with the bolts.

Tighten the wiper motor bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Cycle the wiper motor to the parked position.




4. Press the wiper arm linkage onto the motor driveshaft.
5. Install the wiper arm linkage to the motor driveshaft with the washer and the nut.

Tighten the wiper arm linkage nut to 8.5 Nm (75 lb in).

6. Install the left side portion of the air inlet grille with the screws.

Tighten the air inlet grille screws to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

7. Connect the negative battery cable.
