Seat Replacement - Front Bucket

Removal Procedure

1. If the seat is equipped with a driver side air bag, disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the track covers from the seat adjuster.
3. Position the seat forward and in the full up position.




4. If the power seat motor is not operable, and the bolts that secure the adjuster to the floor pan are not accessible, perform the following procedure:

1. From the front of the seat, disconnect both drive cable housings at the horizontal drive motor (2), which is located at the front of the seat adjuster.
2. Attach a drill motor to a drive cable (1).
3. Alternately run both sides of the adjuster forward until the rear seat bolts are accessible.




5. If you are reusing the seat adjuster, reset the adjuster to make the 2 horizontal drive screws the same length between the drive bracket (3) and the anchor bracket (2).
6. Attach the cable housings (4) to the motor and straighten the housings between the motor (1) and the drive brackets (3).




7. Remove the seat belt nut from the door side of the seat.
8. Remove the head restraint.




9. Remove the bolts which secure the seat adjuster to the floor pan at the rear of the seat.
10. Disengage the seat hook attachments from the floor pan.
11. Tip the seat forward and disconnect the following connectors, if equipped:

* The power seat electrical connector
* The electrical seat heater connector
* The driver side air bag electrical connector

12. Remove the front bucket seat.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the front bucket seat into place.
2. Engage the seat hook attachments to the floor pan.
3. Tip the seat forward and connect the following connectors, if equipped:

* The power seat electrical connector
* The electrical seat heater connector
* The driver side air bag electrical connector

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the bolts that secure the front bucket seat adjuster to the floor pan.

Tighten the bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

5. Install the adjuster track covers.




6. Install the seat belt anchor plate nut.

Tighten the nut to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

7. Install the head restraint.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
9. Inspect the seat for proper operation and adjustment.
10. Position the seat to the original position.
