Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Pad Replacement - Upper
TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate.
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Remove the garnish moldings from the left and the right windshield pillar.
3. Starting at the right side, carefully lift upwards on the defroster grille in order to release the retainers. Continue working to the left side until all of the retainers are released.
4. Disconnect the daytime running lamps (DRL) sensor from the defroster grille.
5. Remove the defroster grille.
6. Remove the screws from the I/P upper trim pad.
7. Remove the remote keyless entry module.
8. Disengage the I/P insulator retainers near the glass from the upper trim pad.
9. Remove the upper trim pad from the I/P.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the upper trim pad to the I/P.Install the I/P insulator retainers near the glass to the upper trim pad.
2. Install the remote keyless entry module.
3. Install the I/P upper trim pad screws.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
- Tighten the horizontal screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Tighten the vertical screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Position the defroster grille to the upper I/P. Connect the DRL sensor to the defroster grille. Ensure that the DRL sensor wiring harness will not be pinched when the defroster grille is installed.
5. Starting at the left side, install the defroster grille retainers into the upper I/P. Continue working to the right side until you have installed all of the retainers.
6. Install the garnish moldings to the right and the left windshield pillar.
7. Install the I/P cluster trim plate.
