Latch Replacement - Liftgate

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Open the liftgate.
3. Remove the liftgate lower garnish molding.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Remove the screws and the liftgate lock.
6. Disconnect the lock rod and electrical connector.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the lock rod and electrical connector.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the rear liftgate lock with the screws.

Tighten the rear compartment lock screws to 6 Nm (53 lb in).

3. Install the liftgate lower garnish molding.
4. Close the liftgate.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
