Emergency Vehicle Headlamp Flasher Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Battery Disconnect Warning.
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
2. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement Radiator Grille Replacement.
3. Remove the front flashing light to bumper bar retaining nut (1).
4. Detach the front flashing light (2) from the bumper bar.
Note:
When removing the cable ties care must be undertaken not to damage the wiring loom.
Note:
Cable ties are a single use item.
5. Remove the cable ties (1) from the wiring harness.
6. Locate the correct electrical connectors for the front flashing lights.
7. Disconnect the front flashing light electrical connectors.
Note:
When removing the front flashing light, take note of the route of the wiring harness routing.
8. Remove the front flashing lights (2) and wiring harness (1) from the vehicle.
9. Repeat steps 3 to 9 for the opposite flashing light (if required).
Installation Procedure
Note:
Route the front flashing light wiring harness as per removal, failure to adhere to this may result in damage to the wiring harness routing.
1. Install the front flashing lights (2) and wiring harness (1).
2. Connect the front flashing lights electrical connectors.
3. Secure the wiring harness with new cable ties (1).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
4. Install the front flashing light to bumper bar retaining nut (1).
Tighten the nut to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
5. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement Radiator Grille Replacement.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for opposite side flashing light (if required).
7. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).
8. Test the front flashing lights for the correct operation.
