Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.





Caution:
Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

2. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor electrical connector (1).

3. Remove the APP sensor to vehicle retaining screws (2).

4. Remove the APP sensor (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the APP sensor (3) to the vehicle and tighten the bracket screws (2) to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

2. Connect the APP sensor electrical connector (1).

3. Operate the accelerator pedal and observe the APP angles using a scan tool. The accelerator pedal should operate freely, without binding between closed throttle and wide open throttle.

4. Install the closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
