Condition

When adjusting the rear height of the driver's seat cushion and simultaneously leaning back into seat back, a creak noise may be heard from the rear of the seat base in the area indicated in figure 1.

This noise may be caused by a metal to metal fouling condition at the height adjust pivot as shown in figures 2 and 3.

Apply grease to the contact area by lifting the seat fully up at the rear and fully down at the front, and then from the rear of the seat apply commercially available lithium spray grease to the area indicated by the arrows.

Note
Protect the carpet with a rag or similar while lubricating so as not to allow grease to contact the vehicles carpet.
