Primary Fuel Level Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Danger:
To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


Warning:

1. Remove the fuel tank assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Removal and Replacement.

2. Remove the primary fuel tank module assembly from the fuel tank. Refer to Primary Fuel Tank Module Replacement Primary Fuel Tank Module Replacement.





Note:
Do not damage the retainers (4).

3. Apply suitable pressure to the retainers (4) to release the primary fuel level sensor (3) from the primary fuel tank module (1).

Note:
Do not damage the wiring (2).

4. Detach the wiring (2) from the primary fuel tank module wiring retainers.

5. Lift the primary fuel level sensor (3) upward and detach the fuel level sensor (3) from the primary fuel tank module (1).

6. Disconnect the wiring (2) from the primary fuel level sensor (3).

7. Remove the primary fuel level sensor (3) from the primary fuel tank module (1).

Installation





Note:
Do not damage the wiring (2).

1. Connect the wiring (2) to the primary fuel level sensor (3).

2. Locate and install the primary fuel level sensor (3) to the to the primary fuel tank module (1).

Note:
Listen for an audible click to confirm correct installation of the primary fuel level sensor.

3. Apply suitable downward pressure on the primary fuel level sensor (3).

4. Attach the wiring (2) to the primary fuel tank module wiring retainers.

5. Install the primary fuel tank module assembly to the fuel tank. Refer to Primary Fuel Tank Module Replacement Primary Fuel Tank Module Replacement.

6. Install the fuel tank assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement Removal and Replacement.
