Chevrolet Light Duty Trucks use either Chevrolet or Dana produced front axle assemblies. Production code explanations are similar to those covered under rear axle identification.


CHEVROLET AXLES

Code is stamped on top rear section of left axle tube. (Includes axle ratio code.)


DANA AXLES

Code is stamped on forward side of left axle tube. Axle ratio code on tape strip around right axle tube.
