CHART C-9C - VACUUM ACTUATED EFE SYSTEM CHECK

Test Description: Step numbers refer to step numbers on diagnostic chart.

1. Engine coolant temperature should be below 40~C (105~F).

2. There should be at least 34 kPa (10" Hg.) vacuum available to EFE actuator diaphragm.

3. Valve may be seized up. It may free up by using heat valve lubricant (part # 1052627 or equivalent). If valve does not free up, it must be replaced.

4. EFE valve should open above 40~C (105~F).

5. Vacuum at actuator, on a warm engine, indicates a faulty TVS. If no vacuum is present, but actuator doesn't move, actuator and valve should be replaced.
