Date: APRIL, 1988
Subject: SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT LACK OF SPECIFIED 20 GALLON FUEL TANK
Model and Year: EARLY 1988 CHEVROLET S10 TRUCKS (EXCEPT X81 - PRICE LEADER AND X9H - 2,000 LB CAPACITY PAYLOAD)
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
General Motors has determined that instead of the specified 20 gallon fuel tank (RPO, NK2), a 13 gallon fuel tank was installed in certain 1988 S10 Pickup and Chassis Cab Model Trucks (except options X81 and X9H) built at the Moraine and Shreveport assembly plants. The price label on an affected vehicle states that the unit has a 20 gallon tank (the price of the 20 gallon tank is included in the base vehicle price) but the absence of NK2 from this service information label indicates that it has a 13 gallon fuel tank. Dealers were notified of this matter on November 10, 1987.
