Fuel Gauge: Description and Operation

The fuel gauge sender provides a signal through the PNK(30) wire to the cluster. With a full tank, the resistance is less than 90 ohms, and with an empty tank, the resistance is less than 4 ohms. If the fuel level in the fuel tank drops below about 3 gallons in a 20 gallon fuel tank, a box around the gauge ISO symbol flashes to indicate low fuel level.
