Owner Letter
(Notification Used By Chevrolet Motor Division May 08, 1990Dear Chevrolet Owner:
This notice is sent to inform you that Chevrolet Motor Division is conducting a recall campaign that includes your vehicle.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
General Motors has determined that certain early 1990 Chevrolet All Wheel Drive Astro Vans equipped with engine oil coolers have a fitting on the oil cooler outlet hose which may not be properly seated. If this fitting disconnects, it can result in rapid loss of engine oil and possible engine damage.
WHAT WE WILL DO
To assure that the fitting on your vehicle is properly seated, it will be necessary to disconnect the hose assembly and reconnect it properly.
This service will be performed for you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your Chevrolet dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date (if your dealer has already contacted you and performed the required repair, please check the proper box on the owner reply card and disregard this notice). Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your dealer. Please contact your dealer if you wish to know how much time will be needed to schedule, process and repair your vehicle.
The enclosed owner reply card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist in making the necessary correction in the shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid reply card and returning it to us.
We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, we have taken this action in the interest of your continued satisfaction with our products.
