Re: ASC Colamco Chevrolet Astro Van Recall Campaign
Dear ASC Colamco Dealer:
ASC Colamco, Inc. has determined that certain ASC Colamco Chevrolet Astro van conversions failed to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 209, Seat Belt Assemblies. In these vehicles, the lap portion of some of the seat belts may not remain on the pelvis at all times, depending on the position of the seat and the size of the occupant.
As a result of this determination, ASC Colamco, Inc. is conducting a recall campaign to remedy the nonconformity of these vehicles with the federal safety standard. Notification letters are being sent to purchasers of the affected vehicles. The purchasers are being requested to contact their dealer immediately to arrange a service date for installation of an appropriate modification for the seat belt installations. The enclosed final bulletin provides the information you will need to complete and install the modification. The necessary parts kits for completion of the modification are available from ASC Colamco, Inc., 1533 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio, 43209, by Contacting Ron Gray at (614)
