Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a permanent magnet signal generator located on the transfer case output shaft. The VSS sends an analog signal proportional to the propeller shaft speed. This signal goes to the VSS Buffer.
