High Pressure Safety Valve HVAC: Description and Operation

The compressor pressure relief valve provides a safety factor. Under certain conditions, the refrigerant on the discharge side may exceed the designed operating pressure. To prevent system damage, the valve opens at approximately 3036 kPa (440 psi). Correct any condition that causes the valve to open. Replace refrigerant as specified.
