Doors: Testing and Inspection
DIAGNOSTIC MODULE SOFTWAREThe Power Sliding Door (PSD) Module has diagnostics built into the software. To enter the diagnostic mode the vehicle must be in "PARK." In addition, the Ignition must be "ON" and the On/Off Switch must be "OFF." If the PSD Module does not see all three of these states, the PSD Module will not go into diagnostics mode. Three diagnostic modes exist. In diagnostic mode 1, trouble codes will flash out through the PSD Indicator Lamp (in the Instrument Cluster). In diagnostic mode 2, the integrity of vehicle PSD Enable Switches, On/Off Switch, Transaxle Position Switch, and the Detent Switch can be checked. In diagnostic mode 3, the integrity of the Release Actuator can be checked.
ENTERING DIAGNOSTIC MODE 1
1. Vehicle in "PARK."
2. Ignition "ON."
3. On/Off Switch "OFF."
4. Cycle PSD Switch (in vehicle) "ON" and "OFF" 10 times within 10 seconds. The trouble codes will flash out three times each and then cycle through again. Code 12 will always flash out first. To exit diagnostics, while in mode 1, move the On/Off switch to the "ON" position. To clear diagnostic codes, exit diagnostics and then remove the COURTESY Fuse for 15 seconds.
ENTERING DIAGNOSTIC MODE 2
To enter diagnostic mode 2 (you must first be in mode 1): Depress the PSD Enable Switch (in vehicle) for at least 4 seconds. The PSD Indicator will flash 2 times to indicate mode 2. To check the PSD Switches, depress each switch. The PSD Indicator should stay on as long as the switch is depressed. To check the Transaxle Position Switch, shift the vehicle from "PARK" to a "NON-PARK" position. The PSD Indicator should turn "ON" and "OFF" with the "PARK" to "NON-PARK" transitions. To check the On/Off Switch, slide the On/Off Switch from "OFF" to "ON." The PSD Indicator should come with the On/Off Switch in the "ON" position. To check the Detent Switch, manually cycle the Detent Switch. The PSD Indicator should come on when the Detent Switch cycles. The Sliding Door must be closed to enable the Detent Switch. To exit diagnostics, while in mode 2, move the On/Off Switch to the "ON" position and depress one of the vehicle PSD Enable Switches for at least 4 seconds.
ENTERING DIAGNOSTIC MODE 3
To enter diagnostic mode 3 (you must first be in mode 2): Depress the PSD Enable Switch (in vehicle) for at least 4 seconds. The PSD Indicator will flash 3 times to indicate mode 3. To check the Release Actuator, depress the PSD Switch. The Release Actuator should cycle when the PSD Switch is depressed. To exit diagnostic mode 3, move the On/Off Switch to the "ON" position or take the vehicle out of the "PARK" position.
