SUBJECT:
WIPER BLADE ELEMENT REPLACEMENT - SECTION 8E

MODELS:
1990-94 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV
1990-94 OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE
1990-94 PONTIAC TRANS SPORT

This bulletin is to clarify the wiper blade element removal and replacement procedure in Section 8E.

NOTE:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BEND THE END TAB OUT ON THE BLADE SUPER-STRUCTURE TO REPLACE THE BLADE ELEMENT.

Follow these instructions to replace the blade element:

WIPER BLADE ELEMENT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

Removal:

1. Remove wiper blade assembly. (See Wiper Blade Assembly Replacement, Section 8E-9 in Service Manual.)





2. Grasp blade superstructure with one hand and blade element seven (7) with other hand. Pull down and inward on blade element until element is free of outer claw set (View A).

Replacement:





1. Install blade element seven (7) into claw set, starting with second set from outer end (View B).

2. Bend blade element as was done at removal and engage element in outer claw set.

IMPORTANT:
Be sure blade element is secure in all claw sets and that element moves back and forth freely.

3. Install wiper blade assembly. (See Wiper Blade Assembly Replacement, Section 8E-9 in Service Manual.)
