Radio/Cassette Temperature Hot After Extended Play (Drill Holes for Increased Ventilation)
Models:
1994-95 Chevrolet and GMC Truck S/T Pickup
1995 Chevrolet and GMC Truck S/T Utility
CONDITION
Some owners may comment that the cassette tape is extremely hot after extended play times.
CAUSE
The heat generated from the sound system, electrical, and HVAC components is not provided sufficient ventilation.
CORRECTION
Drill nine (9) 1/2 inch holes into the instrument panel using the included template (See Figure 1 for template placement).
Service Procedure
1. Remove the radio/cassette player (Reference 1994-95 S/T Model Service Manual).
2. Drill nine holes into the instrument panel using the template (See Figure 1 for template placement). Holes should be drilled from the inside of the radio opening.
IMPORTANT
Make sure area below is clear prior to drilling.
3. Install the radio/cassette player.
