Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
Evaporator Hose To Accumulator:
Evaporator Module:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Recover refrigerant from the system.
3. Evaporator from accumulator.
4. Compressor hose assembly from accumulator.
5. O-ring seals.
- Cap or pug the open lines.
6. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
7. Screw and bracket.
8. Accumulator.
- Install sealing caps if accumulator is not being replaced.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: For steps 2, 5, and 6, refer to "Fasteners" under "Vehicle Damage Warnings."
1. Accumulator Refer to "Refrigerant Oil Distribution," if replacing accumulator.
2. Bracket and screw.
3. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
4. New O-ring seals.
5. Compressor hose assembly to accumulator.
- Tighten compressor hose to 41 Nm (30 lbs. ft.).
6. Evaporator to accumulator.
- Tighten evaporator to 41 Nm (30 lbs. ft.).
7. Negative battery cable.
8. Refrigerant to the system.
- Check the system for leaks.
