Defect & Vehicles Involved
DEFECT INVOLVEDGeneral Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1995 Chevrolet S/T Pickup and Utility trucks equipped with air conditioning and 4.3L engines. Some of these vehicles may exhibit fan-blade rivet breakage which could lead to fan blade separation from the spider. If this should occur while the hood is open, a person working under the hood of the vehicle or in the vicinity of the vehicle could be struck by the fan blade and injured.
To correct this condition, dealers will inspect and replace if necessary, the existing fan with the current release fan with the current release fan having ticker rivets.
