C0081
ABS/Stop Lamp Switch Circuit Schematic:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The stop lamp switch is a normally closed switch. With the ignition in the RUN position and the brake pedal not depressed, ignition voltage will be present at the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). When the brakes are applied, the ignition voltage present at the EBCM will be zero.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTCS
^ EBCM never sees the stop lamp switch released and the vehicle achieves speed greater than 15 mph or the vehicle is in an ABS stop for more than one second and the stop lamp switch is not depressed.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ DTC C0081 is an advisory code only. The ANTILOCK indicator will not be illuminated.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ Conditions for setting the DTC are repaired and the Scan Tool clear (DTCs) function is used.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A faulty stop lamp switch, damaged CKT 420 or damaged CKT 441 can cause this DTC to set.
