C0086

ABS/Indicator Lamp Circuit Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The amber ANTILOCK indicator lamp is supplied ignition voltage through the GAUGE fuse. The indicator is normally on unless the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) switches the indicator off (normal mode). This logic ensures that the indicator will be illuminated if there is an open in CKT 867 or a faulty EBCM.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING DTCs
^ High voltage on ANTILOCK indicator lamp circuit when expected to be low (lamp commanded on) Anything that keeps the ANTILOCK indicator lamp circuit high when the lamp is supposed to be illuminated such as a short to voltage on CKT 867.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ ABS is not disabled If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C0086 is set, the EBCM will use the red BRAKE warning lamp to alert the driver of an ABS malfunction.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ Conditions for setting the DTC are repaired and the Scan Tool clear (DTCs) function is used.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
DTC C0086 is typically set by a shorted ANTILOCK indicator lamp, although it can be set from a short to voltage in the wiring between the lamp and the EBCM or a faulty EBCM.
