Oil Pressure Gauge: Description and Operation

The oil pressure gage indicates engine oil pressure with the ignition switch in the "RUN" position. An oil pressure sensor in the engine block changes resistance with oil pressure.

On diesel engines the oil pressure sender is located on the driver side top of the engine block under the intake manifold.
