This bulletin is being revised to update art. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 76-16-15 (Section 10 - Body).

This service manual update is in reference to the rear body side panel brace. The rear body side panel brace is part of the third seat right and left seat belt system. This brace is a removable component. If it is necessary to remove this brace for service, it must be reinstalled.

If the vehicle is involved in a collision and the third seat right or left seat belts were being used at the time of the collision the seat belt retractor mounting point and the rear body side panel brace must be inspected for damage.





Rear Body Side Panel Brace

1. Remove the body side upper garnish molding. Refer to SECTION 10A4.

2. Remove the body side lower garnish molding. Refer to SECTION 10A4.

3. Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to SECTION 10A4.

4. Remove the nut retaining the seat belt retractor to the vehicle.

5. Remove the nut and stud plate retaining the rear body side panel brace to the rear body side panel.

6. Remove the rear body side panel brace from the vehicle.

1. Install the rear body side panel brace to the vehicle.

2. Install the nut and stud plate retaining the rear body side panel.

3. Install the nut retaining the seat belt retractor to the vehicle.

4. Install the body side trim panel. Refer to SECTION 10A4.

5. Install the body side lower garnish molding. Refer to SECTION 10A4.

6. Install the body side upper garnish molding. Refer to SECTION 10A4.
