General Description NV3500 Transmission

The New Venture Gear 3500 manual transmission is available with the 4.3L engine. M50 is the RPO code for four wheel drive S/T vehicles. MG5 is the RPO code for rear wheel drive S/T vehicles. This transmission is synchronized in all five forward gears.

The transmission has a two-piece aluminum housing that contains the following components:
- The front input shaft
- The rear output shaft
- The mainshaft gears
- The countershaft
- The reverse and idler gear
- The shift forks
- The shift shaft components
